We received our LOA today!!!
Just this morning, about a half an hour before receiving the call I really turned my anxieties about not receiving our LOA over to God. I once again became grateful for having the privilege of being Yi Lai’s mother and finally rested on the fact that however long it would take to wait I would accept. I have been through such an emotional roller coaster these past several weeks. Waiting and waiting for our LOA to arrive. Today is day 117 since our paperwork (dossier) was logged in China. This is such a happy day for us! I received the phone call from Mary, at our adoption agency, this morning at 10:54 am. Since being disappointed each day in not receiving our LOA I certainly wasn't expecting the call.
The LOA is the Letter of Acceptance that China sent to us confirming that we want to adopt Yi Lai. Of course our answer is YES! I called Gord on his cell phone at work and shared the good news. The kids and I met Gord downtown and we went to Checkers for lunch to celebrate and sign the document. Then the kids and I went to Office Max to make several copies of the “letter”, including color copies, buy school supplies and then we headed back home. I quickly returned the document to our
adoption agency because they want to send the “letters” back to China by Friday. I have been flying high all day!
This is such a relief to know that everything is a go and now we are only waiting for our Travel Approval. I think that we will finally be able to travel to China around October. Lia Lai here we come!!!!!!!!
Right now as I am typing this an amazing thunderstorm is passing through our area. It is awesome to see God’s power displayed in the beautiful streaks of lightning dancing across the black sky. It is incredible to think that the God of our universe cares enough to orchestrate each detail of our adoption. I am in awe. Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful gift of adoption. I feel truly blessed.

Gotcha Day!!
Two years ago on August 15, 2005 our lives were changed forever. A precious little girl, Stacie, became part of our family. Two years after being granted the privilege of being her mother she is becoming quite a bubbly, joyful, happy little girl. We are so blessed that she is our daughter and we love her so very much. It is hard to believe that she will be attending preschool this fall and will also be taking dance classes. Stacie loves anything to do with music, including singing and dancing. She truly lights up our home with her funny and sweet personality.

We are still waiting for our LOA. I am hoping that we will receive word this upcoming week. There are so many people who have received their LOA who's dossiers were logged into China around the same time as ours. Perhaps this next week will bring good news!
We are so ready to bring Lai Lai home. Now it looks as though we won't travel until September or October.
